Think Pink (Guest Designing for Die Cuttin Divas)

Hi, Crafters! I am honored to be a Guest Designer today for Die Cuttin' Divas! Woo-Hoo!

The challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas is "Think Pink - Breast Cancer Awareness."

I decided to make a Breast Cancer Awareness Shadow Box with inspiring tags hanging from it. Love those tags!

I used just about every sentiment in Craftn Desert Divas - Be Inspired stamp set.

You can buy this stamp set HERE.

  • Silhouette ID# 61240 (Breast Cancer Awareness Shadow Box)
  • Tutorial for shadow box assembly can be found HERE
  • Silhouette ID# 40402 (7 different style tags / labels)
  • Lace from stash
  • Foam squares for dimension of layers
  • Craftin Desert Divas - BE INSPIRED stamp set for all sentiments on various tags

I thought this project was going to be complicated and confusing to cut and assemble, but it wasn't. You just layer the box cuts and easy peasy.

I've had friends lose their lives (too young) to Breast Cancer. So please, ladies, get the girls checked every year by a doctor and / or Mammogram, and be diligent about your self exams each month. Don't hesitate to call the doctor even if you think it's probably nothing. Better to know for sure than worry about it or let it go and find out later it was something that could have been getting treatment.

Would you like more information about self exams? Check out the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. for tons of valuable information on early detection, breast cancer types, breast cancer treatment and more.

Those papers are from Graphic 45 - An Eerie Tale

Silhouette ID# 66361 - Big Head Frankie
He's adhered with some foam tape for dimension

Tag is a punch I picked up at Walmart.

Cut It Up - Purple, Orange, Lime Green with Black

Happy Friday! I love October. It's my favorite month of the year!

There is a brand new challenge up at CUT IT UP and the theme is Purple, Orange, Lime Green with Black. As always, use a DIE CUT.

Here's my project....

Silhouette ID# 65737 - 2 Pocket Folder
I added matting for the front and inside of this folder.
It came with matting for the pockets, but not a shadow, so I used the Offset feature to create one.

Silhouette ID# 65750 - Little Witch
I cut out the hat and dress twice and added them on top of each other with foam squares for dimension

Silhouette ID# 39232 - Set of 4 Tabs
I created a shadow for the Tab with the Offset feature on the Cameo.

Inside - you could put some notes and envelopes here or
Halloween Treat recipe cards.

Just wanted to show you the dimension on the front.

Here's a close-up of the sentiment.

I used Craftin Desert Divas "Simply Said"

You can buy this stamp set HERE.

Check out what the other Design Team Members came up with for this challenge at Cut It Up, then be inspired yourself.
You have until  October 29 to link up.
Be sure and check out the Cut It Up sponsors and prizes too!

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I'm up to.

SOUS: Anything Autumn

A new Die Cut challenge starts today over at Stuck On U Sketches! I hope you'll join us. Create any type of project you would like using our theme:

You can link up your project HERE

I decided to make a card using colors of the season and a warm, steaming cup of _______ (fill in the blank).
Coffee? Hot Cocoa? Hot Tea?

Not sure if you can tell from the photo, but the mug is three-dimensional.

  • Silhouette ID# 51080
    • I copy and pasted the leaf from the "tea bag". Then I cut off the stem and re-sized the leaf to fit the leaves down the side of the card. The leaves were cut out again in burgundy, yellow, and green and added to the side of the card. This was not part of the cut file.
  • The pattern paper for the mug handle and steam is also a cut not included in the cut file. I just measured how much I would need, cut it out, and adhered it to the inside cover

  • I added a sentiment section on the inside (not part of the cut file)
  • Also cut out a couple more extra leaves for the inside (not part of the cut file)
  • Tim Holtz Walnut Stain - inked edges

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I'm up to.
